Postcard From The Cloud
Posted by Ree in Guadeloupe » Attractions on 19/Jul/2006
Forest Cloud I've always wondered what it would be like to walk around inside a cloud. I thought it would be fluffier, and somehow softer. More like a cartoon, really. I didn't think it would be so...damp. Anyhoo, if you want to find out for yourself, the best way is to go to a cloud forest, not stick your head out an airplane window...

Cities the world over have their lingo and New York is not an exception. Obviously. Fuggedaboudit is as much a NYC icon as the apple or the Yankees.

Sleepless In London
Posted by Irazema in London on 08/Jul/2006
I've always wanted to visit London, but for one reason or another, such an opportunity has been stubbornly evasive. Until recently. After responding to a job ad, I was called to the British capital for an interview. I will spare you the largely irrelevant job hunting-related details, but regardless, I am now ready to share the impressions from my first visit to the city of Agatha Christie and Sherlock Holmes.

Deux Randonnées dans le Donegal
Posted by Gribouille in Ireland on 05/Jul/2006

Portuguese Neighbors, Paris With all Paris seeing Bleu, summer has gotten even hotter than usual. After the stunning 1-0 victory over Brazil on Saturday the French capital went, well, completely nuts. Only the most resolute scrooge can resist a city in the throes of a sporting victory and in Paris, the joie de vivre is especially intoxicating. Voilà five ways to join the madness during Wednesday night's game against Portugal...

The French Fridge
Posted by Hillary in France on 02/Jul/2006
Garde Fromage We are standing around the kitchen one night, having drinks. I am making dinner. It's the beginning of spring, the windows are open and the mood is large. Someone opens the fridge to grab another beer. Then: Gasp.
– "Les amis! You can't keep eggs in the fridge!!"
– "What??"...

Pathways of Japan
Posted by Noelia in Japan » Kyoto on 26/Jun/2006
Nanzen-Ji Temple: Garden Path Japan is a country best represented in visual details. At least, based on my experience of its two capitals (ancient and modern), I found endless examples of visual delights. The elegant rope ties of a handmade bamboo fence at Nanzen-Ji temple in Kyoto. The shiny perfection of a plastic food display in a restaurant in Kyoto's underground shopping mall. The ghostly beauty of falling snowflakes seen from the 53rd floor of a skyscraper in Tokyo's Roppongi Hills. And on and on...
