ProfileBuilt between 1957 and 1962, the cruciform tower was one of the first skyscrapers in Montreal. HistoryIn 1955 New York developer William Zeckendorf invited I. M. Pei to work on this project. Pei designed Place Ville Marie, one of the earliest tall building in the city, with Henry Cobb. Several changes have been made to the lower floors of the structure over the years (much to the detriment of the building, many say) - for example, landscaping and grass were added in the mid-1980.
