You know that there are at least two competing "most expensive" reports - one from Mercer Consulting and another one from the Economist Intelligence Group.
Well, the latter has released its 2007 top and you can be sure it's different from the Mercer one.
Here are the top 10, according to the EIU:
1) Oslo Norway 134
2) Paris France 130
3) Copenhagen Denmark 126
4) London United Kingdom 125
5) Tokyo Japan 124
6) Osaka Japan 118
7) Reykjavic Iceland 118
8) Zurich Switzerland 118
9) Frankfurt Germany 116
10) Helsinki Finland 116

Frankly, I am not buying it. According to this, the city everybody hates to love, Moscow, is not even in the top 10. According to IEU, Moscow has the index of 101 (vs New York 100) - i.e. the same level of prices as in New York. Helsinki, however, shows 116.
I am no expert, but something tells me that Helsinki is NOWHERE NEAR as expensive as Moscow and anyone who enjoyed dining or lodging in either will probably agree with me...
