We are deep in the “Left Bank” territory here. The 14th arrondissement, formerly the favored haunt of assorted writers, intellectuals, revolutionaries, and bohemians, is nowadays mostly a quiet, residential neighborhood.

In its more “active” (northern) section, bordering the Boulevard Montparnasse, you can find one of the most controversial landmarks of today's Paris - the 210-meter Tour Montparnasse.
