Profile
Affordable and informal Russian restaurant.
If you're afraid of trying another Russian
restaurant for fear of being immersed in Brighton-Beach-style
tackiness, fear not: Uncle Vanya is a different
bird. Much more "St.Petersburg" than "Odessa", this
is the place where many a Russian goes to eat
actual Russian food.
Try pelmeni
accompanied by flavored vodka (my choice,
albeit an unusual one, is the horseradish
flavor) and be sure to get tea with preserves
at the end of your meal - there's not going
to be any of that teabag silliness - you'll
get a full pot of real, loose tea (more than
enough for two or even three).
