Square Victoria (Victoria Square) - Montreal

A rather curious mixture of old and new, Square Victoria recovered its traditional boundaries only in the 21st century, when the city went about the correcting of the errors past. Most buildings that surround it are new or at least modern (it bears reminding that the Tour de la Bourse, despite its space-age look, is roughly half-century old), but certain elements (the statue of Queen Victoria, or the wonderful Art Nouveau “Métro” sign by Hector Guimard) tastefully weave other eras into the texture of this public space.
