Luigi Moretti (1906-1973) was an Italian architect. In 1957 he founded
the Istituto per la Ricerca Matematica e Operativa applicata all'Urbanistica (IRMOU),
an organization that aimed to develop the application of mathematical principles and
methods to urban planning.
Moretti was the architect of several well-known buildings, both in Italy and
abroad. In North America, his legacy includes the
Watergate Complex (Washington DC, USA) and the
Tour de la Bourse (Montreal, Canada).
