Russia! At! The! Guggenheim!

Nice Places

Russia! at the Guggenheim If the idea of covering the 800-year history of Russian art in one day of serious museum hiking sounds appealing to you, NYC Guggenheim's "Russia!" exhibition has been put together with you in mind.

According to the organizers, Russia! is the

"most comprehensive and significant exhibition of Russian art outside Russia since the end of the Cold War".
It is also a good example of how new Russian "oligarchs" spend their money - the support of "Vladimir Potanin Charity Fund" (see note below) makes this extravaganza possible (see P.S.).

From September 16th until January 11th, 2006.

Guggenheim Museum
1071 Fifth Avenue (at 89th street)
New York, NY, USA

P.S.: Vladimir Potanin is one of the richest people in Russia with estimated assets of 4.7 billion dollars, according to the Russian edition of "Forbes". No, he did not make his money selling art.
