Photo: David Sundberg/ESTO The LA Times reports and the NYPL confirms the opening of another Wi-Fi hot spot at the library's main building on Fifth Avenue. Now, visitors with laptops can go online at the Edna Barnes Salomon Room (Room 316), in addition to the Bill Blass Catalog Room (no. 315), the Rose Main Reading Room and the DeWitt Wallace Periodicals Room (no. 108). What makes this new addition so special? * * * In a word, the space itself. The Edna Barnes Salomon Room is an impressive 4,500 square foot rectangular space with dark maple wood floors, faux skylights and cream-colored walls lined with paintings. In the last few years, it has been used as a location rental and although previously its "dining" capacity stood at about 325, the new Wi-Fi & reading installation in the form of custom-made tables and chairs is only for 125 persons.
