The area is still a little rough around the edges (one only needs to scan local headlines to see that), but there are pockets that are completely gentrified now - for example, Rue Notre-Dame in the vicinity of Rue Atwater.

Restaurants

Several upscale restaurants, notably Joe Beef, have settled in the western part of the neighborhood.
