On This Page: ↓Attractions ↓News Bourgeois-chic and very expensive, the 7th arrondissement is home to several world-famous landmarks and museums (the Eiffel Tower, for one, is located in this district). The area was originally a suburb - the Faubourg Saint-Germain, built gradually from the 17th century on as the swamps covering much of its terriorory were drained. Originally created for the aristocracy, the area neverthess became home to democratic insitutions: today, the 7th arronidissement contains the National Assembly and many ministries.
AttractionsThe unavoidable feature of the district (as well as the city) is the Eiffel Tower built here in the late 19th century by Gustave Eiffel. Musée d'Orsay is a former train station transformed into one of the top museums in the world. It is famous for its collection of Impressionist paintings. Another highlight is the Musée Rodin which houses the scultor's most famous works. » Our list of selected 7th Arrondissement Attractions (4) Hotels» Our list of selected 7th Arrondissement Hotels (3) Restaurants» Our list of selected 7th Arrondissement Restaurants (3) Articles, Updates and Reviews |

inevitable if you go to either the Café de Flore or
Les Deux Magots), I have an
alternative suggestion.
