Manhattan's West Side (Midtown)
Manhattan's West Side as seen from the Hudson River at the level just below West 34th street. You can clearly see the Empire State Building (center) and Hotel New Yorker (extreme left). As of the time of this writing (mid-2006), the area in the foreground is being prepared for massive real estate redevelopment.
